Der Aufbau und die Komposition beziehen sich auf das Gemälde „Revaler (Tallinner) Totentanz“, ein erhaltenes Fragment (ca. 1/4) eines ähnlichen Totentanzes in der Nikolaikirche in Tallinn, gemalt von Bernt Notke oder seiner Werkstatt. Das Werk stammt aus dem Ende des 15. Jahrhunderts und befindet sich heute in der Niguliste Kirche, Tallinn, Estnisches Kunstmuseum.
The structure and composition refer to the painting “Revaler (Tallinner) Dance of Death“, a preserved fragment (approx. 1/4) of one Similar Danse Macabre in St. Nicholas Church in Tallinn, painted by Bernt
Notke or his workshop. The work dates from the end of the 15th century. Century and is now located in the Niguliste Church, Tallinn, Estonian Art Museum.
